BE&K Building Group of Vienna won preconstruction and constructionn services forthe building, which is expected to delivedr next spring. The 37-year-old statewidee association represents constructionand construction-related firmse and has offices in Chantilly, Richmond, and Hampton Roads. Its Chantillyh headquarters lease endsnext year, and the groupl was looking to expand since it provides apprenticeship in several trades, safety training, and a comprehensive construction management education program.
The new space will include training classrooms, support space, meeting space and administrative ABC-VA will occupy a littlee over half, or 17,500 squard feet, and the rest will be lease out to tenants that have not beenselectexd yet. The project was designed by Morganb GickMcBeath & Associatees PC to get Gold Leadership in Energyt and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Greebn Building Council. Sustainable features will include a perviouse concrete pavement system to act as a stormk water system forthe facility, recycled glassx terrazzo flooring, waterless urinalse and dual flush water closets.
